A Strategic and Meaningful Way to Give
When you establish a supporting foundation with JCF, you are building a partnership with us. Our team will put their expertise and connections in the community to work for you, helping you reach your philanthropic goals. You’ll receive personalized service from professionals who get to know you, your family, and your values. From administrative and operational support to assistance with grant-making, we are always there to assist you with your foundation’s operations and your charitable giving.
A supporting foundation is an independent, not-for-profit corporation with its own identity and corporate structure. While it qualifies as a public charity because of its affiliation with JCF, a supporting foundation has many of the advantages of a private foundation. To establish a supporting foundation, you make a minimum initial contribution of $1,000,000 in cash, securities, or other assets.
While you can give to any qualified non-profit through your supporting foundation, whether secular or Jewish, our JCF offers specific expertise in Jewish philanthropy. We can also connect you with donors who share your passions, creating impactful partnerships and increasing your impact.
A Unique Way to Engage Your Family
Your family members can work together towards shared philanthropic goals. Through the Center for Strategic Philanthropy, JCF professionals can help facilitate values discussions, planning and grant-making among multiple generations within your family.
You can plan for the future by naming family members as successors, so they and their children can continue the work of your supporting foundation. Any gifts you add to the supporting foundation from your estate will become part of your legacy, enabling your family to carry on the tradition of tzedakah you have established.
